Now People Can Complain for Abusive WhatsApp Messages in India

Indian Government had taken a step to reduce abusive violence on WhatsApp, as India is one of the top most country with active WhatsApp user subscribers.

There been a cases in India when people have to loose their lives just because of fake viral messages or any violent messages relating to specific religion.

Now People can complain of WhatsApp abusive messages to Department of Telecom (DoT) by just taking the screenshot of messages along with the mobile number and send to [email protected].

If anyone receives abusive/Harassment/offensive/death Threats or any Vulgar Messages they can simply send the screen shot to DoT.

Ashish Joshi DoT Controller Communication tweeted “ “We will take it up with the telecom operators and police heads for necessary actions”

The Actions are results of many public figures including journalist complaining about the death threats and abusive messages they were receiving.

DoT in an Order on 19 February 2019 has stated “license conditions bar carriage of objectionable, obscene or unauthorized content in any form on the network.”

The order Pointed all telecom operator to take an immediate action against their customers who are sending any types of messages which Violates the customer declaration.
